Classroom Rules:
Our classroom uses a baseball system to help children visually stay on track. There are 4 baseballs entitled: home base, strike 1, strike 2 and strike 3. All students have a baseball bat with his/her name on it and begins each day next to the home base ball. If a classroom rule is broken their bat is moved to the next ball (see consequences below).
Rewards for positive behavior:
Consequences for negative behavior: Home Base: Appropriate Behavior Strike 1: 5 minutes off recess Strike 2: 10 minutes off recess Strike 3: lose recess and call home Severe disruption or action: lose recess, sent to principal, and call home We have four tables in our classroom. Each table can earn a homerun on the Scoreboard when they work well together, keep their table clean and organized, etc. At the end of the week the table with the most homeruns gets to pick a small prize. Students are rewarded when the entire class is working together. A baseball is placed on a catchers mitt each time they walk quietly in the hall, follow rules during a fire drill, get a good report from a special, etc. When the catchers mitt is filled we vote on a class celebration (pajama day, game day, etc.). |
